Thank you for visiting!
My name is River Minho Kim, I am a story artist and director working in the Animation Industry. Originally from South Korea, I moved to Canada in 2016.
Back in Korea, I graduated from Chonnam National University in Gwangju with a dual Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology and Psychology. I've always had a passion for understanding people, and through my education, my love of the fundamental power of storytelling became even stronger! While there, I won the award for "Asian Cultural Original-Form Storytelling" for my work adapting traditional Korean Mythology for a TV series format.
After graduating from Chonnam and being encouraged by my newfound award, I gained access to the Korean Academy of Film Arts (KAFA), where I worked in a small class to focus my skills on film directing and storytelling, and graduated with a Certificate in Film Art. It was through my work at KAFA that I received a grant from the South Korean government to produce my independent short film, The Kite: The New Year Days (연: 예순 번째 설날).
After working in the Korean Animation industry for several years, I wanted to chase my dreams in North America and made the shift to laying down roots in Canada. I had the pleasure of working for Video Game maker, Electronic Arts as an artist on FIFA Mobile before reestablishing myself in the North American animation industry working with Mainframe Studios as a Storyboard Artist on Barbie: It Takes Two.
I am open to working in any country, and in any type of work condition (in office / hybrid / remotely). If there is any interesting story to contribute my art, I will be there!
